DNAs and RNAs are one of the most exciting units in the body. There is a lot to learn from these units and a lot of exciting researchers that are being conducted on them for results. It is a normal physical process in the body where RNAs are broken down and degraded in smaller particles. Yet, it was never observed that the breakdown of the RNAs was beneficial to the body or used in any way.
However, a recent study conducted by a team of researchers at the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry was able to find a reason behind the breakdown of circular RNAs. The study has shown results which prove that the degradation of RNAs is used further in the body to regulate the protein kinase of the body. This regulation works with different mechanisms which were beneficial to the immune system.
The activation of PKR is activated giving better results from the natural immunity find inside the human’s body. The study was published in the journal called Cell by a doctor at the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Dr. YANG Li at the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology called Dr. Chen Lingling.
The study needs further development to help it reach a solution to treat or even prevent autoimmune diseases. The study was connected to the examination of patients suffering from a common autoimmune disease called Systemic lupus erythematosus.
