Pregnant and Parenting Students
Pregnant and parenting students at 海角大神 have access to support that helps them continue participating in their courses, programs and campus activities. Students can learn about their Title IX protections, request reasonable academic modifications, locate lactation spaces and report pregnancy-related discrimination or harassment.
Pregnancy and Parenting Rights Under Title IX
Our Pregnant and Parenting Students Policy provides guidance on the steps students should take to access resources and support for their academic success.
In accordance with University policy and Title IX regulations, Detroit Mercy does not discriminate against any student or exclude them from educational programs or activities based on pregnancy or related condition.
Pregnancy-related conditions include pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy, lactation and medical conditions related to and recovery from those circumstances.
Students who are pregnant or managing related conditions are entitled to reasonable modifications to support continued access to their programs and activities.
Lactation Rooms and Breastfeeding Spaces
The University recognizes the importance of supporting individuals who are nursing by providing private and clean areas for employees, students and visitors to breastfeed and/or express milk. These areas have been designated on campus as "Lactation Spaces."

McNichols Campus

- Library, first floor (ask for the key at the User Services desk)
- Student Union, lower level
Corktown Campus (School of Dentistry)
- Clinic Building, fourth floor
- Classroom Building, fourth floor
Riverfront Campus (School of Law)

Novi Campus (School of Optometry and MEAGN Program)
