Entertainment law is topic of event at Detroit Mercy Law

Two leaders in arts and entertainment law will discuss the field and their careers representing entertainment figures Feb. 12 at a Detroit Mercy Law event titled “Careers in Arts & Entertainment Law.”

Featured speakers are Paul Rosenberg ’96 and Howard Hertz.

Since graduating from Detroit Mercy Law, Rosenberg has become a force in the music industry worldwide. He is a longtime manager of Eminem, founder of Goliath Artists and president of Shady Records. He is also the former chair and CEO of Def Jam Recordings and has produced projects such as the film “8 Mile” and the documentary “How Music Got Free.”

Hertz specializes in entertainment law. Since 1976, he has represented authors, screenwriters, directors, recording artists, radio personalities, producers, production companies, songwriters and athletes.

The free event is 5-7 p.m. Feb. 12 in Room 226 of Detroit Mercy Law’s campus at 651 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. A reception will follow in the Atrium. is required.
